The Ontario Community Newspapers Association (OCNA) has produced an excellent Media Guide that can help you and your newspaper avoid legal issues arising from articles and advertisements.  There are 24 chapters on a range of topics, including copyright, libel, court reporting, tobacco advertising, elections advertising, employment advertising and more.
